After much soul searching, deliberation and encouragement / borderline bullying to do so by others, moving forwards I will introduce a scoring system. It will be a simple 0 – 5 score (with half points) but displayed graphically (as sugarcane as per below) at the bottom of each article. It will be reflective of the overall package from presentation, nose, taste and finish. I will not be telling you whether a Rum is a ‘Mixing’ Rum or a ‘Sipping’ Rum….I don’t really subscribe to that level of categorisation personally…..a Rum may be released by the producer / independent bottler with a certain market in mind but when I buy it, I do what I like with it. I’ll judge it based on my opinion of its merits and flaws. I won’t be giving complex randomly split meaningless individual scores for Presentation etc.
